Borivli on Wednesday had a horrific experience as the driver halted the vehicle before reaching the destination and began to masturbate.
The woman lodged a complaint with the Borivli police on Tuesday after narrating the incident on social media.
She boarded the auto from Infinity-II mall on Malad Link Road and was texting colleagues at work. By the time the auto reached Kandivli, she got a call from a friend. When speaking on the phone, she noticed that the driver was touching himself inappropriately. Initially, she dismissed it, assuming he was trying to sit comfortable. But he was doing it frequently, so she told her friend on the phone about it.
She said the auto slowed down as it turned into a relatively empty lane but the driver's movements got faster. "It was then that I realised he was probably masturbating. I panicked and decided to stop the auto but chose not to because I did not want to get off somewhere where he could easily grab me," she said in her post.
"I was two minutes away from home. But before we could reach, he parked his auto, pulled down his pants and began masturbating. I jumped out of the auto and ran for my life. There were six men standing there who saw him, but none of them did anything," she added.
