The farmers of Gudatipally under Gouravelli reservoir in Akkennapet manndal of Husnabad division have demanded the administration provide them a copy of the complete detailed project report (DPR) for them to examine. The villagers have submitted a memorandum to the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) on Friday.
The court has directed the officials to present the DPR in Telugu as demanded by the project oustees. The villagers alleged that even after the court direction the officials have failed to provide them the full copy of the DPR and they were given only 28 pages of DPR of which only four pages are in Telugu with remaining pages in English.
“You have intentionally violated the court direction in extending the complete DPR in Telugu to us. The DPR cannot be only 28 pages and we hope that it will be much larger in volume. Even the grama sabha was not held as per the regulations under the Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act- 2013 (LA Act -2013). Even the primary notification issued in the past will not stand good as one year has already passed. You have to give us ample time after providing us the complete DPR to submit our objections. Hence, we request you to withdraw personal hearing and commence the process again,” the villagers urged the authorities. They have rejected the directions of the officials to attend individually for personal hearing stating that all of them came there to submit a memorandum about the incomplete DPR.
According to the villagers there was a heated argument between officials and villagers when the RDO asked them to sign a register confirming their presence. However, the villagers clarified to the officials that they would be submitting a memorandum about the incomplete DPR and that itself confirms their visit to RDO office to attend for personal hearing. About 40 farmers from the village met the RDO. Memorandum copy was also given at the offices of Collector and Joint Collector.
