Art remains in every piece of J’khand: CM

Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday said of Jharkhand is so rich in flora and fauna that artists from across the world can put vibrant colours on their canvases and portray a vivid image of the State in the world. After inaugurating the first International Water Colour Festival in the State, he said every particle of State possesses art and there are endless opportunities of nature tourism alongwith mining and eco tourism in the State. 

The CM said the International Water Colour Festival is being organised between August 23 and 27 by Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs department of the Government on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Padma Shri recipient Late Ram Dayal Munda is a true tribute to him.

The CM added it is paintings only through which a painter portrays the misery of the society before everyone. He appealed to national and international painters and artists to make brilliant pictures of the State on their canvases and show them to the world so that Jharkhand could make its place on the world canvas.

Das assured on the occasion all possible help to the artists of the State and appealed to the youth to polish their skills so that the State could get recognition. He also asked the people of the State to take part in increasing numbers in the festival to provide moral support to the artists and make acquaintance with the international and national art lovers. 

Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Amar Kumar Bauri said on the occasion that it’s the first ever event in the country where international level artists are painting with the local ones at the same platform. He said that the artists will go to tourist places and make paintings there and on the last day an exhibition will be organised of all the paintings.

Secretary of the department Manish Ranjan said that the presence of international artists will make the role of Jharkhand on the art and culture platform reach a new height. In the event artists from 24 countries, 25 States and 24 districts of Jharkhand are participating. Principal Secretary to CM, Sunil K Barnwal, Padma Shri recipient and artist Mukund Nayak, Festival convener Anna, Rajat Bandopadhyay along with people related with art and culture from different States and countries were present.
