Members of the Fall River Elks Lodge 118 arrived on Pine Street this Friday to deliver a $1,200 check to the Veterans' Association of Bristol County, using the proceeds from its first Annual Cornhole Tournament.

"We here at the Veterans' Center greatly appreciate this donation, and all that the Elks do for our military service members," said Trott Lee, the executive director of the VABC.

Arthur Aldrich, the Exalted Ruler of the Fall River Elks Lodge, emphasized the organization's motto: "Elks Care, Elks Share." He said he is proud to have members motivated to give back to those who've served.

"I have family and friends who are veterans; great people who have given up so much for our freedom. This is the least we can do," said Marc Pacheco, a member of the Fall River Elks Lodge.

Located at 4500 N. Main St., the Elks Lodge 118 is planning to continue its charitable efforts. "We're in the process of planning our 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament in mid-December" said Sherrie Souza, a member of the Fall River Elks Lodge.
