Miscreant held for illegal liquor trade, 11 cartons seized

Khajuri police have nabbed a miscreant involved in illegally transporting and selling liquor at Fanda village and seized 11 cartons filled with country-made liquor worth Rs 55,000 from his possession on Wednesday.

According to the police, acting on a tip off regarding a man near Fanda village was nabbed and recovered country made liquor from his possession.

The accused was carrying with country made liquor and was nabbed when his vehicle was checked. The police have recovered 820 bottles of with country made liquor from the accused.

The nabbed accused was questioned regarding the liquor but was not able to provide documents related to the liquor. The miscreant was identified as Rohit Raikwar.

The accused is involved for selling liquor illegally for long. Police said that the nabbed accused confessed that used to sell the liquor but the sources of procuring liquor are yet to be found would be investigated in the further investigation.

The buyers of the liquor provided by the accused would be investigated in the further investigation.

The police have registered a case under section 34 of the Excise Act.

The crime record of the accused and his involvement in illegal transport of liquor would be investigated.

Police suspect that there were two men in the vehicle but one managed to escape after he spotted police.

The details of the other accused would be investigated in the further investigation. The accused used to sell liquor in remote places were no liquor shops are available.
