A 35-year-old labourer was kidnapped and killed allegedly by his contractor and his accomplices over a monetary dispute in north-west Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh, the police said on Thursday.
Two persons, identified as contractor Rajesh Kumar and his nephew Vicky alias Vikram were arrested in the case. Two of their accomplices, identified as Ravi alias Nikki and Pawan are absconding, the police said.
Deceased Moti Lal, a resident of Singhalpur, had borrowed ₹30,000 from Mr. Rajesh. He had been forcing Moti to return the money, but the latter was unable to pay, they said.
Moti’s wife Geeta said that on Monday Vicky and two others came to the house and thrashed her husband before forcibly taking him in a while car. A kidnapping case was filed.
Moti’s body was found in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh on Tuesday. He was bludgeoned to death. Vicky said he had kidnapped and killed Moti on Rajesh’s directions.
