KANPUR: The
Etawah police booked a
Hathras man and his three aides for uploading morphed obscene photographs of a woman
Samajwadi Party (SP) leader on a social media group.
The leader had lodged a complaint in this regard on August 18. The police have launched manhunt for the four. Police said that a Hathras-based man is the administrator of the WhatsApp group in which the photoshoped obscene pictures of the SP leader were uploaded.
The main accused, Arun Sharma, is a resident of Lakhnu village in Hathras, said a senior police officer. "Preliminary investigations revealed that Arun procured the woman's pictures from her
Facebook account and later morphed them and uploaded them," said CO Etawah AN Chaturvedi. One Parvez Chaudhary, Vikrant and
Rahul Mishra had allegedly assisted Arun Sharma in the crime.
On reaching Hathras the police found Arun absconding. "Arun works as a driver. Four accused have been booked under relevant sections of IPC and IT Act at Friends Colony police station. Police have picked up Arun's father and one of his friend to trace him and his aides. Police have also questioned Arun's employer," said a senior official.
