Calcutta HC asks Ramkrishan Mission monk to counsel a couple

The today asked a monk of Mission to a couple who is involved in regular marital strife, in a bid to ensure proper education and normal life for their 16-year-old daughter.

The petition was filed by the girl's paternal grandmother who claimed that she was physically and mentally tortured by her and that the police had not acted upon her complaint.

Observing that a normal life and proper education of the girl was her prime concern, Justice Patherya, who is also the of of the high court, talked to the couple Tarak and and also to their daughter.

The court said it wants to ensure that the girl, who will write her school leaving board examination next year, gets a proper environment to study and directed that a senior monk of the Mission, located about 25 km from the city, to the couple to ensure that they live a peaceful life.

The said that the mission will also provide vocational training to the woman, which will ensure that she becomes self-sufficient and remain busy with her work.

She also asked the in-charge of station under commissionarate to pay visits as and when possible to the couple's residence, apart from deputing a to visit their house once every fortnight for the next three months.
