Carlex Gives VW Amarok Truck A Riveting Makeover, But At A Price

Carlex Design has introduced a package for the Volkswagen Amarok, which enhances both its exterior and interior appearance.

It costs €13,995 ($16,215) in Germany, or almost half the price of a new entry-level Amarok in its home market, where it starts from €32,076 ($37,166), and to keep it exclusive, it’s limited to 500 examples.

The asking price is steep, but it could be well worth it, given that it adds a protective paint on several parts of the exterior in addition to new body kit and a set of 265/60 all-terrain tires from BF Goodrich wrapped around the 18-inch aluminum rims. Carlex is also offering a new suspension for the pickup truck, new side sills and a roof-mounted LED light bar.

The interior is supposed to “amaze and provide the maximum comfort”, according to the tuner. It sports lots of leather trim on the seats, central armrest, doors, gear knob and steering wheel and features unique seams, quilting pattern, Alcantara trim, new floor mats and a limited edition plaque round up the list of updates.

The Carlex-tuned Amarok also comes with a custom-made exhaust system equipped with a sound booster, which is controllable via a smartphone app and enhances the soundtrack.

Before calling it a day, Carlex Design has given this ride a new name, too: Amy. Guess they are the type who like to name their cars, then.
