Hajj pilgrim from Tripura dies of cardiac arrest in Mecca

A 58-year old pilgrim from Tripura's district passed away at today following a cardiac arrest, a family member said.

Abdul Saiyad, a resident of Srimantapur village of Sipahijala, around 27km from here, had left for the pilgrimage site on July 26 along with 150 others from the state.

His son, Kamal Hussain, said Saiyad was taken to the hospital last night in after he complained of chest pain and uneasiness. He passed away this morning at 5.45am.

"We have found out from other pilgrims of Sonamura that my father breathed his last today at 5.45 am following a cardiac arrest," he said, adding that Saiyad was buried at a cemetery in

When contacted, Haj Committee Md Jasim Uddin said he will be visiting the house of Saiyad tomorrow to pay his tribute.
