Ujjain: Traffic police penalises MLA’s, other vehicles for traffic rules violation


Ujjain: In a joint action against those violating traffic rules road transport office (RTO) and traffic police penalised owners of five vehicles of political leaders and cancelled fitness certificates of Tata Magic vehicles during last two days.

Talking to Free Press RTO Santosh Malviya said that use of hooters is a violation of traffic rules; hence hooters were removed from atop five vehicles and vehicle owners were fined. The department received Rs 15,000 as penalty amount.

According to details available during regular checking at ISCO pipe factory square ASI (traffic police) Vijaysingh Chandel stopped vehicles for sporting hooters and using illegal number plates. Two vehicles having name plates of office-bearers of Narendra Modi Vichar Manch were also penalized by the officials. The police removed the hooters as well as name plates showing posts of leaders.


Chandel said that initially the persons sitting in the vehicles tried to browbeat the police team and threatened that they would get him transferred. Chandel said that to ensure compliance with traffic rules the campaign would continue it without any hesitation or fear.
