Naveen Patnaik to attend Atal's memorial meet today

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik will attend the memorial service of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to be held at the Unit-III Exhibition Ground, in Bhubaneswar, on Friday.
An official in the chief minister's office confirmed the development on Thursday, a day after Union minister Jual Oram visited Naveen Niwas to invite the chief minister to attend the event.

"It's not a political event. For the memorial meeting of a leader of Vajpayee's stature, one must rise above party and politics. The CM was very warm in his response when we invited him," Jual said.
