Pune varsity's five-year law course first term to begin from August 23

PUNE: The first term of students who have been admitted to the first year of five year integrated BA-LLB course will start from August 23, said the official notification from Savitribai Phule Pune University.

The dates are applicable to all colleges affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University spread across three districts of Pune, Nashik and Ahmednagar.

The BA-LLB course follows a semester pattern and there are two terms in every academic year. The first term, as per the notification displayed on SPPU's website will start on August 23 and end on December 22 of this year.

The second semester will start next year ie on January 7, 2019 and continue till April 30.

The notification further said, 'Teaching will begin on the date of commencement of the terms and immediately after the finalization of admissions; however, term would stand concluded on the dates mentioned above'.

The letter signed by deputy registrar for post graduate admissions in SPPU said, "To comply with academic requirements, college may utilize holidays including Sundays for first year students. In case, the principal of the affiliate colleges require to give additional holiday in exceptional circumstances, he or she may do so by compensating the same by keeping the college working on Sunday."
