Opera Ltd. OPRA, -0.40% shares rose roughly 6% in the extended session Thursday after the company reported profits in its first quarter since its initial public offering. The software maker said that it banked net income of $7.4 million, which amounts to 4 cents a share or 7.5 cents per American Depositary Share. Revenue rose 50.3% to $39.8 million compared with the year-earlier period. Opera went public in July at $12 a share. The S&P 500 index SPX, -0.17% fell 0.2% during the regular session Thursday.
