Sovereign Hill worker to face court on sexual assault charge
A Sovereign Hill employee has been charged with one count of sexual assault and will appear in Ballarat Magistrates Court in October, Victoria Police have confirmed.
Fairfax Media understands the charge relates to the matters first reported by The Courier in February.
Sources have told Fairfax Media the man is still on the books at the popular tourist attraction, but has been on long-service leave.
In February 2018, after months of investigation, female Sovereign Hill staff gave The Courier extensive and detailed descriptions of assaults and harassment they allege they had been subjected to, including being groped, manhandled and having a male staff member expose himself to them on repeated occasions.
The man will front court on October 4.
