Bahamas saw a solid growth of 10.2 percent in international arrivals year-to-date and it maintained the tourism turnaround that started last year in October.
Due to strong performance from the United States the growth took place, however with a 29.6 per cent increase through July in arrivals from Canada also facilitated its growth.
There were robust marketing and communications efforts in North America by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation that brought the travel story to consumers luring travel journalists and influencers to the country to reach to the travel decision makers.
The marketing program for 2018-19 is underway by the ministry and it is expected to support business growth.
Dionisio D’Aguilar, Bahamas minister of tourism said that they saw gratifying results across tourism sectors in recent months and felt encouraged. The tracking tools helped them in double-digit increase in international arrivals and strong business for future.
Several advertising has been deployed by the ministry to make people aware of the destination. There are several content marketing program that complements the advertising goals of inspiring co summers to explore regions of the country.
