The members led by its president Satnam Singh Gambhir distributed sweets at Tatanagar Railway Station as the train chugged off for its destination. Gambhir said that Union Railway Minister has fulfilled their long pending demand of the pantry car.

The  Jallinwala Bagh Express is a bi-weekly train  which travels between the two destination- Tatanagar and Amritsar- on Mondays and Wednesdays. The train takes around 35 hours to cover the journey between the two places.

The president said that they had started a campaign pressurising the railways to introduce a pantry car in that train said, “ It is really a big achievement as our long pending demand has been fulfilled. Numerous passengers who travel to Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on that train would be benefited.”

“A pantry car is a must in that train as majority of people heading for Amritsar opt for this train. In absence of a pantry car passengers either has to carry food of their own or purchase it from different stations,” noted another member.
