A car belonging to a Delhi Police inspector was robbed near Dwarka on Wednesday while his son had parked it outside an apartment in Sector 23.
Victim Sagar Chauhan said that while fleeing with the vehicle, the man had threatened to shoot him if he tried to resist.
The incident was reported around 6 p.m. when Mr. Chauhan had parked the car outside the DDA flats and gone inside. He said he was supposed to return within a few minutes and had left the car unlocked. When he returned he found a youth, aged around 23, sitting on the driver’s seat.
The youth allegedly pointed a pistol towards Mr. Chauhan and threatened to shoot if he tried to resist. The accused then drove towards Sector 19.
Mr. Chauhan said he stopped chasing the car and informed the PCR about the incident. The police reached the spot and recorded his statement. CCTV footage from the area were scanned to identify the accused.
The car was found to be registered with SHO (Naraina) Sunil Chauhan. The police suspect the role of some autolifter in the area .
