Sitaram Yechury condoles Kuldip Nayar's death

Condoling the death of veteran Kuldip Nayar, CPI(M) leader Yechury said today that "his advocacy of people to people ties with was special".

"Champion of our democratic rights, civil liberties and at the forefront of those battles, served with distinction. His advocacy of people to people ties with was special. His presence in current battles would have been a source of strength. Condolences," he tweeted.

The eminent and author, who fought fiercely for press freedom and civil liberties, died here early today. He was 95.
