Nagpur: Rural police have intercepted a car ferrying Rs70 lakh cash to Chandrapur, on Wednesday, at Butibori. Cops had received a tipoff, following which they laid a trap and stopped the car. While checking the car, cops found Rs70 lakh. Cops rounded up the driver and another man from the car and started questioning them.
According to the cops, Dilip Ingle and driver Ashwin Gautam were ferrying the cash to Chandrapur.

Senior PI of Butibori police station Hemant Chandewar said, “Both of them were not giving proper answers about the cash, and could not provide any relevant documents. So we brought them to the police station on suspicion.”

The duo has told cops that the cash belonged to a transporter at Nagpur and since the banks were closed they were delivering the cash to a relative of the transporter at Chandrapur. Cops have handed over to the cash to the income tax department, which will investigate the matter further.
