Stabbed 12 times over Rs 500, E Delhi tailor dies

In a horrific incident, 24-year-old man who earned his livelihood by working as a tailor, was stabbed 12 times over a dispute of Rs  500 in Kalyanpuri area of east Delhi. The victim was stabbed repeatedly in his chest after he had demanded Rs 500 that he had lent to his neighbours. It has been found that they refused to return the money and attacked the victim with a sharp edged knife. The victim had succumbed to his injuries as he was stabbed fatally.

“We received a Police Control Room (PCR) call on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday regarding the regarding scuffle between three people in 21 block of Kalyanpuri. A team had rushed to spot where they found Sharukh lying in a pool of blood. He was seriously injured and was immediately rushed to Lal Bahadur Hospital for treatment. Despite the best efforts of the doctors, he succumbed to his injuries around 4 a in the morning,” said Pankaj Kumar Singh,  the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), East district.

Investigation has revealed thar the victim, Shahrukh, went to the house of his friend Mukesh (30) to ask for Rs 500, which he had lent to the latter's wife a month ago. Mukesh was not at home at that time and was informed by his wife of Shahrukh's visit when he returned, the police said.

A furious Mukesh went out in search of Shahrukh and picked up a fight with him, they said. Mukesh was joined by two others -- Khalid (20) and a juvenile. The three thrashed Shahrukh and later stabbed him to death, the police added.

“Shahrukh was stabbed 12 times in his chest, abdomen and neck, they said.       Khalid and Mukesh have been arrested while the juvenile has been apprehended by the police.               In the past, Mukesh was booked in a case of fight and Khalid was involved in a robbery, the police said. “The body was handed over to family after post mortem examination was done at the hospital. There were twelve deep stab times. We have arrested the accused and have recovered the murder weapon. Further investigation is underway,” the DCP added.
