THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An editorial appeared on RSS mouthpiece Kesari’s online site, criticizing the Union government’s approach towards flood-ravaged
Kerala.
However, later, the magazine disowned it and claimed its account was hacked briefly.
It was written that the Centre was showing political vendetta towards Kerala while offering assistance in flood affected areas. Even though chief minister
Pinarayi Vijayan had sensibly and decently dealt the issue with the Centre, there was no similar response from the Centre.
The editorial went on lionizing Vijayan over his administrative skills while dealing with the disaster and described how he managed the crisis by leading from the front. It was, however, critical against
Narendra Modi for not rising to the occasion in helping the state and in accepting the demands made by the state government.
It further had said that the organisation which several Keralites had been trusting all these years, have not given such recognition when the people of Kerala were in trouble. Hence it was time to react for the leadership of the party.
However, the online editorial disappeared when several of the online media started publishing the news. It was replaced by another editorial titled “It’s not religion, but the country, that is important’’.
“The editorial dated August 22 which came online was not our weekly’s. The current issue is dated August 24 and it is our
Onam special. The editorial in question was the handiwork of some who had hacked our website. We have filed a police complaint in this regard”, said N R
Madhu, chief editor, Kesari.
