Weather Update: Rain in upper central, northeastern parts of SA

Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected in the upper central and northeastern parts of the country on Friday.

Rain

Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected for Gauteng, Mpumalanga, the eastern parts of Limpopo, the southeastern parts of the North West, the central and eastern parts of the Free State and southwestern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Some drizzle is expected in the extreme southeast of the Eastern Cape.

The rest of the country will remain dry.

Temperatures

Minimum temperatures are expected to be cool to cold across most parts of the country.

The coldest place will be Sutherland in the Northern Cape, dropping to a below-freezing -9°C.

Maximum temperatures are expected to be cool along the coastal areas and adjacent interiors. Warm weather is expected along the northern border and adjacent areas.

A few places in the north are expected to reach a high 28°C.

Pretoria is expected to reach a high of 27°C, while Johannesburg is expected to be 26°C and Bloemfontein is expecting a maximum of 25°C.

Along the coast, Cape Town is expected to reach a high of 19°C, Port Elizabeth a high of 21°C, and Durban a maximum of 20°C.
