Nagpur: Mental and physical harassment at workplace forced a 40-year-old woman to resign from the job and approach the police to file a complaint of molestation against her boss. The accused, identified as Abhijeet Rahate, 35, has been arrested.
The survivor was working at a finance company as an executive since March 2017. She resigned from the company on May 11, 2018 and approached Sitabuldi police. The police after investigating the matter finally registered a case of molestation against the accused Rahate, manager, on Tuesday.

According to cops, the survivor had joined the finance company as operation executive in March 2017. As days passed, Rahate started making inappropriate advances towards the survivor and used to pass double-meaning comments. Initially, the survivor tried to ignore the accused as she was in need of the job. Rahate allegedly used to touch the woman indecently. The survivor approached seniors in the company who warned Rahate. After that, for some days, Rahate stopped interacting with the survivor and she was shifted to another branch.

However, in March this year, the accused called all employees to his office citing March-end workload and allegedly tried to take advantage of the survivor when she was alone. As the woman opposed his overtures, the accused started harassing the survivor forcing her to resign from the job and lodge a complaint.
