Over the few years, the animosity between Congress and BJP has reached a shocking unbelievable level, with personal attacks being traded constantly. Amid these political tensions, the mood has turned sombre, first with the passing away of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and now with the untimely death of Congress leader Gurudas Kamat.
The deaths of these political leaders from BJP and Congress have meant that the two warring parties have put behind their personal agendas and are sharing the stage while paying respects to late leaders from the opposite party. Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh took time out to attend the funeral of Vajpayee at Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, and also had words of praise for him. Even Sonia Gandhi and other Congress leaders visited Vajpayee’s residence to pay last respect to former prime minister.

Anguished by the sudden demise of former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Shri Gurudas Kamat. He was a seasoned leader who had also served the nation as the MoS in the MHA. My thoughts are with his family and supporters.

It’s highly unlikely in present or in the very future that both parties — BJP and Congress– will ever come together. But, amid all those political anger and hatred Congress and BJP have found themselves on the same page and shared same sentiments, which very unlikely to be seen ever again.
We just hope these two parties work together for the betterment of the nation even after things normalise. Too much to expect?
