Samsung Galaxy Note 9 launched in India, price starts at Rs 67,900

NEW DELHI: Tech giant Samsung launched its flagship device -- Galaxy Note 9 globally earlier this month. The company has now finally launched the phablet in India with a starting price tag of Rs 67,900. The handset is already up for pre-order and will go on sale starting August 24 via Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm, Samsung’s online and offline stores.
The company has launched two variants of the Galaxy Note 9 -- 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at Rs 67,900 and the 8GB RAM and 512GB storage priced at Rs 84,900. The phablet comes with a metal frame design and massive 4000mAh battery with wireless fast charging support. This is the first Galaxy Note device to come with such a huge battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 features a 6.4-inch QHD+ display with 1440x2960pixels resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by the company’s own octa-core Exynos 9810 processor. The customers also have the option to expand the storage up to 512GB by adding a microSD card.
As far as the camera is concerned, Note 9 features same hardware module as in the flagship Samsung Galaxy S9+. There is a dual-camera setup at the back with a 12MP wide-angle sensor with f/1.5 and f/2.4 dual aperture and a 12MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Both the lenses have optical image stabilisation. At the front, there is an 8MP camera with f/1.7 aperture for selfies.
Apart from this, another important highlight of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is the S Pen support. This time the S Pen comes with Bluetooth support. This means that the S Pen can be used as a remote shutter for camera, to play, pause and skip tracks.
On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type C. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 also comes with IP68 rating which makes the device dust and water resistant. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box topped with company’s own layer of customisation.
