Bicycle maker surrenders Rs 5-crore undisclosed income

LUDHIANA: An income tax survey was conducted on three premises belonging to SK Bikes, a renowned bicycle manufacturer of the city, situated in Focal Point, Phase-7. The survey — conducted by Range-1 of the Income Tax department, under instructions from principal commissioner R Bhama — was started on Monday afternoon, and ended on Tuesday morning. According to sources in the department, the company had surrendered on Tuesday an undisclosed income of Rs5 crore during the action.


Company owner Sachin Lakra confirmed that a survey was conducted by the I-T department on his company, which ended on Tuesday. Meanwhile, repeated attempts to contact additional commissioner Rohit Mehra (who led the action) failed.
