Ghaziabad: Two fake Rs 4 lakh robbery, arrested

GHAZIABAD: Two persons, including a collection agent with a telecom service provider, have been arrested for faking a robbery of Rs 4.75 lakh by three armed assailants in Tronica City on Monday. Investigation revealed that the salesman had plotted the entire plan to steal the money collected by him from various shops in Loni and Tronica City.
The collection agent, Sachin Kumar, called the control room on Monday around 4pm and reported that armed assailants came on a bike near a petrol pump in Tronica City and robbed him of his cash bag he was carrying.

An FIR was lodged against unknown persons, but within five hours, police found the robbery was fake and arrested Sachin along with his one accomplice for misleading the police.

Ghaziabad SSP Vaibhav Krishna said, “Sachin was not able to give proper descriptions of the miscreants and looked very nervous. Later, he confessed to his crime and said his friend Nitish Kumar helped him in executing this plan.”

Sachin told police Nitish came to the designated spot in Tronica City and after taking the cash bag, he hid it in his house in New Vikas Nagar. The two hav been booked under sections 420, 406 and 411 of the IPC.
