Ensure deadline, quality of projects: CM

The 110th meeting of the Major Project Control Board was held at Mantralaya on Tuesday under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Approval was granted to tenders regarding works costing Rs1925 crore for Design Build Operate of Right Bank Distribution System of Kundliya Irrigation Project, for dam construction under the multipurpose Bina Joint Irrigation Project, Parvati Composite Gravity Dam construction and for construction of Composite Gravity Dam under the Sita Nagar Project. On completion of these works, irrigation facility will be provided on over total 2.18 lakh hectare of Rajgarh, Sagar and Damoh district.

Chouhan said that construction works of the projects should be ensured with quality and within the stipulated time. Works should be monitored constantly.

Chouhan was apprised that the construction work of the dam on Kali Sindh river under the Kundliya Project in Sirpoi village of Jirapur block-Rajgarh District has been completed.

 Irrigation facility will be provided on 1.25 lakh hectare area from the dam water. Besides, 10 million cubic meter water for the purpose of drinking and 15 million cubic meter water for industrial use will be made available.

Along with this, the provision of 30 million cubic meter water has been made towards environment conservation works.

Besides, it was informed in the meeting that high class irrigation facility will be provided on about 65,000 hectare area in Rajgarh.

On completion of the work, water distribution system for irrigation will be set up through pressurized and micro pipeline on 64,656 hectare land.

The project will provide irrigation facility to 255 villages of Rajgarh district.

The construction of dam with total water storage capacity of 270 million cubic meter water, on Bina river near Gavri village of Rahatgarh-Sagar district is proposed under the multipurpose Bina Joint Irrigation Project.

Under this, 37 million cubic meter water will be kept reserved for the 3 Gramin Payjal Samooh Yojana.

The construction of another Chakarpur dam, 10 km down from this dam is under progress. Both the dams will have joint water storage capacity of 300 million cubic metre.

This will provide irrigation on the total 90,000 hectare land of 403 villages of Sagar district through sprinkler system by laying underground pipeline up to one hectare area. Dam construction project is proposed on Parvati river near village Fatehpur of Rajgarh district.

The total water storage capacity of the dam is 172 million cubic meter and the designed irrigation capacity is 48 thousand hectare. A provision of 10 million cubic meter water has been made towards potable water.

Similarly, Sita Nagar project is proposed on Sonar river near Sitapur village of Pathriya block-Damoh district. The total storage capacity of the dam is over 65 million cubic meter water.
