Rs 29L seized from bus passenger

Ludhiana: Police recovered Rs 28.82 lakh from a bus passenger in Khanna on Tuesday. Vijay Kumar of Jalandhar, who was carrying the cash, has been handed over to a team of the income tax department, which is probing the matter.
Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said, “Police and officials of narcotic cell were checking vehicles near a mall on GT Road, Khanna. The cops stopped a bus coming from Gobindgarh side. During checking, Rs 28,82,400 were recovered from a passenger identified as Vijay Kumar of Amar Nagar, Gulab Devi Hospital Road, Jalandhar.”

An IT official said, “We are investigating the case and also trying to find out the source of the cash and the person(s) to whom it was going to be delivered.”
