M.K. Surappa asks students to remain trustworthy

Anna University Vice-Chancellor M.K.Surappa exhorted the students to nurture their passion to achieve great heights and be trustworthy.

Delivering his address before distributing degree certificates to the graduates at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Pennalur near Sriperumpudur on Monday, the Anna University Vice-Chancellor said that there was a myth that solutions to the problems could be found only by those who graduate from elite institutions.

Any bright student with a passion to achieve great heights in his career could come up with solutions for the problems faced by the country with respect to drinking water, health care and energy generation.

Urging the students to work towards finding out ways and means for enhancing agriculture production through latest technologies, he also wanted them to be trustworthy.

Pointing out that short-cuts would not yield the desired results, he called upon the students to uphold ethical, moral and professional values and express their opinions without fear or favour.

Delivering the welcome address, the SVCE Governing Council chairman A.C.Muthiah said a person is bound to be successful when he is creative. It is the curiosity in a person that opens the doors of creativity, he added.

The vice-president (consulting), Cognizant, Chennai, Prakash Balasubramanian, the Associate vice-president and Delivery Centre Head, Infosys, Chennai, M.S.Surya Narayanan and the principal, SVCE, S.Ganesh Vaidyanathan, spoke on the occasion.
