Ujjain: District Congress committee and block Congress committee Jiwajiganj celebrated ex-PM Rajeev Gandhi’s birth anniversary as ‘sankalp diwas’ (pledge day) on Monday. The party men garlanded the Rajeev’s statue at Rajeev Gandhi Chowk and also on his portrait at party’s office located in Kshir Sagar area.
On the occasion district Congress spokesperson Vivek Gupta administered the gathering a pledge to make party victorious in the coming assembly polls. Congress leader Devvrat Yadav and Sundar Malviya organised a ‘sadbhavana march’ from Shadeed Park to Kshir Sagar to mark the ocassion. Senior Congress leader and former MP Satyanarayan Panwar, Chetan Yadv, Batukshankar Joshi, Mahesh Soni, Rajendra Bharti, Azad Yadav, Anantnarayan Meena, Ravi Bhadouriya and other leaders attended the event.
Party office bearer Rajesh Sarda informed that a sadbhavana rally was also organised on this occasion by Jan Jagaran Manch from Shaheed Park to Kshir Sagar in the presence of senior leader and Congress spokesperson Manohar Bairagi, former MP Satyanarayan Panwar, Chandrabhansingh Cnadel, Yogesh Sharma, Dinesh Jain Antarsingh Darbar, Sunita Yadav, Ravi Rai, other leaders and volunteers. The party also felicitated meritorious students and teachers.
‘Sadbhavana diwas’ at Krishiupaj Mandi
Chimanganj Krishiupaj Mandi committee officer bearers celebrated Rajeev Gandhi’s birth anniversary as ‘sadbhavana diwas’. Mandi committee head Bhahadursingh Bormundala administered oath of ‘sadbhavana diwas’ to staffers and appealed to remove caste based discrimination. All the mandi office bearers and employees were present on the occasion.
