Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Like Sunday, the skies remained cloudy in the state capital on Monday as well. Showers were received in the early morning and intermittent drizzle continued during the day. In the state showers were received at many places making the weather cool and pleasant.
Dark and dense clouds were witnessed in the state capital throughout the day but rainfall shied due to speedy winds in the day. Light showers and drizzles at several places were recorded in the state capital.
The state capital recorded 526.3 mm in the ongoing monsoon season till August 19, while the normal rainfall in 673.9 mm which makes the deviation of 22 percent.
Rainfall has been recorded at most of the places in Indore, Hoshangabad and Jabalpur divisions and at several places in Rewa, Shahdol, Bhopal and Sagar divisions in the past 24 hours.
Uneven trend of heavy to very heavy rainfall along with light and no-rainfall prevailed across the State for the past two days and continued on Monday along with warnings of heavy rainfall issued by Met department.
In the past 24 hours Khirkiya recorded 6 cm of rainfall, Anuppur, Raheli, Rewa and Harda recorded 5 cm of rainfall, Bichiya and Malajkhand recorded 4 cm of rainfall and Sardarpur recorded 3 cm of rainfall.
Met department said that low pressure area over north-west Bay of Bengal low and an upper air cyclonic circulation and monsoon trough over Firozpur, Rohtak, Itawa, Deltaganj and Jamshedpur has induced the change in the weather conditions across the state and would bring heavy rainfall in the next 3-4 days.
Fifteen districts of the state are witnessing deficit rainfall conditions while 31 districts have received normal rainfall in the season according to the Met department till August 19 in the state.
