HYDERABAD: A seven-yearold boy was kidnapped by two women from the Secunderabad Railway Station on Monday morning. The Government Railway Police (GRP), Secunderabad, along with Hyderabad police have launched a search for the boy. However, till last reports came it, he was yet to be traced.

Railway police said sevenyear-old Ayush was at the general waiting hall (GWH) at the Secunderabad station along with his mother Sanju and three-year-old sister. Around 8am, Sanju told Ayush she was going to the nearby stall to buy tea and told the children to wait there till she returned.

A little later, Sanju returned, but found Ayush missing, while her three-yearold daughter was there. Sanju searched for the boy on the 10 platforms of the railway station for nearly two hours and finally approached GRP. Police verified CCTVs located at various locations at the station and discovered that the boy was kidnapped as he was seen walking in the company of two women, one wearing a blue sari and the other salwar kameez.

“We found CCTV footage at a nearby bus stop, where the two women and the boy boarded a TSRTC bus. Within no time, they disembarked from the bus. We contacted Gopalpuram police to help us in approaching the bus driver or conductor. When we contacted the concerned driver and conductor, they told us that since the boy started crying after getting into the bus, the two women got off the bus,’’ GRP superintendent of police G Ashok Kumar told TOI. The women told the RTC staff that the boy was crying as his mother was yet to join them.

In the CCTV footage, the women were first seen walking with the boy on a platform and later exiting the door, parking area, Secunderabad bus stand (getting into the bus and disembarking), attempting to board an autorickshaw near Crystal lodge, Ruby hotel and later near Regional Passport Office (RPO).

“Our teams are working on the case and we are hopeful of rescuing the boy,’’ Railway police said. Sanju, a widow, and her children were supposed to board Dharampur Express on Monday. The victim’s family, native of Uttar Pradesh, resides at Bandlaguda. The woman is in a state of deep shock after losing her child.
