MADURAI: Panic prevailed on the premises of a private spinning mill in Madurai on Tuesday morning after an unidentified man made a hoax bomb call.
The man called Madura Coats Mill around 7.15am and threatened that a bomb was planted on the premises.

On being alerted, police, bomb detection and disposal squad and dog squad reached the premises. They split into five teams and searched the 70acre campus.

Around 500 workers were present on the campus when the search was going on.

At the end of the four-hour search, the city police declared that it was a hoax call.

The police were trying to nab the caller by tracking his mobile number, from which he made the call to the mill’s landline.
