The charming teen movie To All the Boys I've Loved Before, an adaptation of Jenny Han's young adult novel of the same name that follows a young teen whose love letters are accidentally mailed to her current and former crushes, has been a huge success for Netflix.

The thirst for more teen movies and romantic comedies is very real, and if Twitter is any indication, the thirst for Noah Centineo and his onscreen alter ego Peter Kavinsky is even more real. (I don't even want to think about how many women -- both young and old -- were googling Centineo over the weekend, because you know it was a disgustingly large amount.) But since it's been a full... [checks notes] four days since the film was released on the streaming service, it's time to start asking the important questions: What's next for Lara Jean Covey (the delightful Lana Condor) and Peter? And will there be a sequel?

7 Reasons To All the Boys I've Loved Before's Peter Is the Ultimate High School Boyfriend

Although Netflix has not yet said one way or another, we still have good news for those of you who couldn't get enough of the teen rom-com or maybe even just Centineo's face: To All the Boys I've Loved Before is the first book in a trilogy, which means that should Netflix move forward with a potential sequel -- and it would be stupid not to -- most of the hard work is already done. We already know what's next for everyone's favorite new couple, so why not give the people what they want?

Lara Jean's coming-of-age story continues in the books P.S. I Still Love You and Always and Forever, Lara Jean. We've already seen some of what happens in the second book, because the first book actually ends with Lara Jean deciding to write her second love letter to Peter. It isn't until the second book that she gives it to him and they reunite. The "sex tape" from their hot tub encounter also doesn't begin making the rounds at school until the second book as well. It's not surprising screenwriter Sofia Alvarez would include these particular events in the movie adaptation of To All the Boys I've Loved Before; the emotional throughline of any romantic comedy requires not only some sort of conflict to drive the central couple apart, but also some sort of happy ending that provides a sense of closure.

The bad news for fans is that Lara Jean and Peter do not live in perfect teenaged bliss in the second book. First it's revealed that Peter and his ex-girlfriend Gen (Emilija Baranac) are still very close, which naturally causes tension between Lara Jean and Peter. It's eventually revealed why the two exes have been spending so much time together, and it's not what people expect. But by that point, another one of Lara Jean's former crushes -- and a recipient of one of her love letters (who just so happened to show up at her doorstop in the movie's mid-credits sequence) -- has already reentered the picture: John Ambrose McClaren. You can probably figure out where this story goes.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before Is Netflix's First Teen Movie Worth Watching

In the third book, titled Always and Forever, Lara Jean, our titular heroine is approaching the end of her high school career. But her idealistic dreams of what her college life would entail are dashed when she doesn't even make the waitlist for the school she had planned on attending since childhood (the same school that just so happens to be where her current beau will also be attending, but we won't reveal who that is here!). What ensues is a thoughtful look at one of the most pivotal moments in every teen's life as one chapter begins to close and another is just beginning.

The rest of Lara Jean's story is just as tenderhearted as the first installment, and it'd be a shame to not get to live a little longer in the honeyed world of this dreamy-eyed young woman. So, what are you waiting for, Netflix? Your next teen movie is right here just waiting to be brought to life.
