Witch hunt: Woman killed; 3 arrested

The police on Monday arrested three tribal persons on the charge of killing a 32-year-old woman, identified as Laxmi Budiwala suspecting her to be witch on Thursday night at Sukarana village under Sukinda police station limits.

The body of Laxmi was found hanging at the house on Friday morning. After getting autopsy report, it was known to be a murder case, said police.

“During investigation, we found Laxmi was the second wife of Kaira Bidiwalla. She was strangled to death  by three persons, Chandu Budiwala (33), the first wife of Kaira Bidiwalla, Minjari Munda (36), the elder sister of Chandu and Ajaya Munda (24), the nephew of Chandu and Minjari on Thursday night as they suspected the deceased was a witch in the village,” said Sukinda police station IIC Somyaprit Mishra.
