Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram unreserved train on August 21

The Southern Railway will operate an unreserved special train from Chennai Central to Thiruvananthapuram via Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Podnuar, Palakkad to clear extra rush due to Kerala floods on Tuesday (August 21) .

The train No. 06049 Chennai Cenrtral – Thiruvananthapuram unreserved special will leave Chennai Central at 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday and will reach Thiruvananthapuram at 1.40 p.m. on the next day.

The train will stopat Perambur; Arakkonam; Katpadi; Jolarpettai; Salem; Erode; Podanur Junction; Palakkad; Thrissur; Aluva; Ernakulam town; Kottayam; Changanaseri; Tiruvalla; Chengannur; Mavelikkara; Kayankulam; Kollam Junction and Varkala, an official press release of the Salem Railway Division issued here on Monday said.

Changes in services

Due to heavy rain, landslips, flash floods and closure of Palakkad and Tiruvananthpuram areas, the Southern Railway has made the following changes in the pattern of train services:

Train No.16512 Karwar – KSR Bengaluru Express of August 20 was diverted via Shoranur, Palakkad, Tiruppatur, Jolarpettai to KSR Bengaluru. The No.16512 Kannur – KSR Bengaluru portion of this train will not be attached at Kannur.

Trains fully cancelled

No. 56363 Shoranur – Kottayam passenger; No.16792 Palakkad – Tirunelveli express; No 16576 Mangalore Junction - Yesvanthpur express and No. 16512 Kannur – KSR Bangaluru express were cancelled on August 20.

Trains partially cancelled

No. 06027 Tambaram - Kollam special of August 20 was partially cancelled between Sengottai and Kollam and No. 06028 Kollam – Tambaram special of August 21 was partially cancelled in the Kollam – Shengottai section.
