Organisational shuffle in Congress, Ahmed Patel appointed party treasurer

In a major organisational shuffle in Congress, senior leader Ahmed Patel was appointed as treasurer by the party president Rahul Gandhi. Patel will replace Motilal Vora, who will now act as AICC general secretary administration. Patel has also served as party treasurer previously and he was also the political secretary of former Congress president Sonia Gandhi. In a statement, Congress said that Karan Singh has been replaced by Anand Sharma as chairperson of party’s foreign affairs department. While, ex-Lok Sabha speaker was made a permanent invitee to Congress Working Committee (CWC).
