A senior official of the horticulture department in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district was booked today for allegedly sexually harassing a woman subordinate, said police.
No one has been arrested till now in the case, a local police official said.
The case was registered against the 55-year-old assistant director-level official and the woman officer on the basis of a complaint filed by the 30-year-old victim, he said.
Allegations levelled by her were found to be true during preliminary investigation, he added.
The victim, in her complaint, has alleged her senior had been sexually harassing her for the past two years, he added.
The accused had been allegedly making obscene gestures at her and passing inappropriate comments. He had also sought sexual favours from the victim, the police official said, quoting from the complaint.
The woman officer had been supporting the accused in the alleged offence, he said.
The case against the duo was registered at the Chakradhar Nagar police station under IPC sections 354-A (sexual harassment) and 34 (common intention), he said.
An investigation is underway and further action will be taken accordingly, he added.
