Burglars strike houses in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: Burglars reportedly broke into four houses in Jankipuram, Kakori, Sarojininagar, and Mohanlalganj police station areas on Sunday and decamped with jewellery and cash. FIRs have been registered in all the cases and probe is under way.

In Jankipuram, thieves decamped with jewellery worth Rs 6 lakh, Rs 8,000 in cash and some household essentials after breaking into a house in Abhishekpuram.

The theft came to light when the house owner Indra Prakash Singh, an advocate, returned home on Sunday at around 8.30am and found the house burgled and jewellery, cash, and household essentials stolen.

In Sarojininagar, thieves targeted the house of an auto driver in Chandrawal village and decamped with Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and jewellery worth Rs 2 lakhs. The theft took place on Saturday night.

In the third incident, two unidentified thieves stole jewellery and cash from the house of a sweet shop owner in Mau village of Mohanlalganj area on Saturday night.

In Kakori, unidentified burglars broke into a house and decamped with valuables in Dubagga Begaria locality on Saturday night.

The thieves broke the lock of the house of complainant Rajesh Gupta's sister.
