Anning (China): Anirudh Chandrasekar missed two matchpoints and went down 6-4, 3-6, 6-7(6) to fourth seed Cing-Yang Meng of Chinese Taipei in the first round of the $15,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament here on Monday.
In a match that lasted two hours and 44 minutes, interrupted by wet weather, Anirudh survived a matchpoint after trailing 3-5 in the decider. However, at 6-4 in the eventual tie-break, Anirudh lost his way, served a double fault on the second matchpoint and dropped four points on the trot to bow out.
