In a tragic incident, a woman and her son were found dead under mysterious circumstances at a flat they had shifted to two weeks ago in Dilshad Garden area of the national Capital. The police suspect it to be a case of murder and have initiated an investigation into the case.

The two deceased are identified as 20-year-old Ravi Malhotra and his 51-year-old mother. According to police, they had received a Police Control Room (PCR) call by the neighbours following a bad odour coming from the house since Saturday late evening.

“Our team rushed to the spot. After our team entered the flat in Dilshad Garden we found Ravi's body lying in a pool of blood on washroom's floor. After finding the boy's dead body, we further searched the flat and later found his mother's body stuffed in a bed box in one of the room in flat,” said Meghna Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Shahdara district.

“We have sent the bodies for post mortem. It seems a case of murder as there were stab wounds on the bodies. We have started our investigation and we are trying to ascertain the reason behind the two murders that took place at a flat in Delhi's Dilshad Garden, b-block. We have increased the circle of our investigation and identified a man which we found coming out of the flat while examining the CCTV footage,” said DCP.

One of the neighbor of the deceased told The Pioneer that the duo had shifted some two weeks ago in the flat and they were a bit introvert in nature. “Neither of them ever communicated with other people as several of the residents were not even aware of the mother-son living there in a flat in the colony,” said a neighbour.
