VIJAYAWADA: Dr NTR University of Health Sciences has called for applications from NEET-2018 candidates for second phase counselling for admission into MBBS and BDS courses, under Competent Authority quota.

All eligible candidates are asked to exercise web options from 8 am on August 18 to 1 pm on August 20, at https://apmedadm.apntruhs.in.

Counselling for MBBS seats in Sri Padmavati Medical College for Women, under Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati, and also for Competent Authority quota seats (A-Category) in Fathima Institute of Medical Sciences, (Kadapa) will also be done during the same schedule.

The 2nd phase counselling for management quota seats will be held on August 21 and 22 at Dr NTRUHS, said the University Registrar, Dr Appalanaidu. Detailed notification is expected to be released by Saturday or Sunday, said the university officials.

The candidates are asked to visit the university website for information on seat matrix and vacancies.

Nearly 13,000 students applied for the counselling for 1,900 medical seats this year. While the process was supposed to completed by 1st week of August, it was delayed due to stay orders filed in High Court over reservation quota and implementation of GO 550.

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court, on Thursday over the High Court judgment which directed the university to proceed with counselling without considering para 5(2) of the GO. However, since the Supreme Court hearing on the petition is on August 24 and the last date for counselling in on August 26, as per the MCI norms, the university has decided to carry on with the counselling as per the HC directions.
