DMK general council to meet on August 28, Stalin likely to be elected as party president

CHENNAI: DMK’s general council that will meet here on August 28 is likely to elect party working president M K Stalin as the party president. It is also likely to elect other officer-bearers of the party.
A press release issued by DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan wanted all the members of the general council to attend the meeting without fail. It will be held at party headquarters -- Anna Arivalayam -- at 9am on that day.

This will be the first meeting of the general council after the demise of DMK chief M Karunanidhi on August 7.
