Met dept issues heavy rainfall warning in State

Uneven trend of heavy to very heavy rainfall along with light and no-rainfall prevailed across the State for the past two days and continued on Sunday along with warnings of heavy rainfall issued by Met department.

Spell of heavy rainfall continued to lash several places in the past 24 hours in the state and state capital.

The state capital recorded 526.3 mm till August 19 recorded at 8.30 am, while the normal rainfall in 673.9 mm which makes the deviation of 22 percent.

Dark and dense clouds were witnessed in the state capital throughout the day but rainfall shied due to speedy winds in the day. Light showers and drizzles at several places were recorded in the state capital.

Met department said that low pressure area over north-west Bay of Bengal low and an upper air cyclonic circulation and monsoon trough over Firozpur, Rohtak, Itawa, Deltaganj and Jamshedpur has induced the change in the weather conditions across the state and would bring heavy rainfall in the next 3-4 days.

In the past 24 hours Khirkiya recorded 6 cm of rainfall, Anuppur, Raheli, Rewa and Harda recorded 5 cm of rainfall, Bichiya and Malajkhand recorded 4 cm of rainfall and Sardarpur recorded 3 cm of rainfall.

Warning of heavy rainfall has been issued for Sagar, Chattarpur, Umaria, Anuppur, Shahdol, Vidisha, Raisen, Mandsaur, Neemuch and Harda districts.

At most of the places Indore, Hoshangabad and Jabalpur divisions and at several places in Rewa, Shahdol,Bhopal and Sagar recorded rainfall in the past 24 hours.

According to the forecast at several places in Bhopal, Indore, Sagar, Jabalpur, Shahdol and Hoshangabad divisions, at few places in Rewa, Ujjain, Gwalior and Chambal divisions in the next 24 hours.

Fifteen districts of the state are witnessing deficit rainfall conditions while 31 districts have received normal rainfall in the season according to the Met department till August 19 in the state.
