BHUBANESWAR:
IIT Bhubaneswar on Saturday held its first
techno book exhibition in the new
library of its administrative building.
Altogether 16 vendors and publishers of national and international repute from Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Maharashtra and Gujarat are participating in the three-day exhibition that will continue till Monday. It has 31 book stalls with more than 1.5 lakh books on science, engineering, technology, social sciences, management and soft skills. This apart, there are books on literature and short stories for children. Food stalls have also been put up so that visitors can grab a quick bite in between hopping from one stall to another and browsing books.
"The exhibition has been organized under the able leadership of institute director R V Rajakumar. We kept the inauguration simple owing to the demise of our former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee," Rajesh Roshan Dash, chairman of the Central Library, said. He added that the exhibition aims to inculcate the habit of reading among students.
