Sunday mid-day brings complete combo listings to make your weekend happy
What independence is like
Tom Koshy's short film, which went viral on I-Day, is a great addition to the campaign to make public spaces safer for women. Directed by Koshy, the short (shot on an iPhone X) is full of suspense. A woman travels back home. Alone. Every step of the way, you consider the ways in which she may be molested or assaulted. An initiative by HerStory, this is a positive, empowering approach.
Blue me away
Last week, we tried out the blue bun burger rolled out by the folks behind Bandra's Kaitlyn's Beer Garden. It wasn't just its warm turquoise hue — a result of the butterfly pea flower — that bowled us over, but also the texture of the bread. The burgers, priced between Rs 250 and Rs 350, were mildly spiced and sufficiently juicy. The surprise element though was the tangy house sauce.
Tricky truth
At the outset, Gita: The Battle of the Worlds (HarperCollins India) by Sonal Sachdev Patel and Jemma Wayne-Kattan, appears to be a simple illustrated book. The story hopes to address mental health and how meditation could lead to inner peace. While the book has its heart in the right place, we wonder if children would be able to articulate the ideas, half as easily.
