Industries Deptt takes step to control

Durg District Business and Industries Centre for last one week has been conducting survey and holding cleanliness drive in Light Industrial Area besides Bapu Nagar and Khursipar of Durg district.

The industrial units are being asked to keep their drains and water logging spots clean, and ensure their round the clock cleaning so that water does not stagnate.

Chief Manager Industries Praveen Shukla said that the department is using 3 JCB, two trucks have been pressed into service to remove the garbage, waste and water logged areas continuously. Different industrial organisations, office bearers like Laghu Udyog Bharati, Bhilai Ancillary Associaiton, Wire Dyeing Association among others have been contacted for coordination and cooperation for spraying and creating awareness among the workers working in these units on how to protect, treat and take care of Dengue.

Director, Industries Anurag Pandey also inspected the work in progress in the centres. He directed the officials to continue the cleaning process on regular basis.

Meanwhile, Durg collector Umesh Agrawal visited the dengue affected areas of Balaji Nagar, Rajiv Nagar and Khursipar areas. He motivated the people to come forward to assist the administration including health and other agencies working round the clock to control the menace of dengue.

He directed that ward corporator and local youth should form a committee and ensure that their area is regularly cleaned along with sharing information on the prevention of dengue and measures.

Collector directed the Sub Divisional Magistrate to shift the fast food outlets spreading garbage on ground and drains in Khursipar industrial area. Collector also visited the dengue patients in IMI Hospital, Khursipar.

Different social organisations like Bharat Vikas Parishad, Art of Living, Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries among others are creating awareness and assisting the people in cleaning the places of water logging including coolers.

7 die of dengue so far

As per update provided by Health department, on Saturday, till date 668 suspected patients have been checked out of which blood sample were tested from all suspected cases and out of which 52 were found negative, 470 were found positive while the report of 146 patients area awaited from Raipur Medical College while till date 7,354 houses have been visited while on Saturday itself the number is 8782. The total death reported is 7.
