Murder accused killed by rivals in J’suguda

A murder accused and resident of Harekrushnapur village, Bijay Bhoi was killed late on Thursday night allegedly by rivals at Mundapada road of Hirma village under the Badmal police station of the district. While Bijay had gone for a walk during late night hours, he was attacked on his head with bamboo sticks by two unidentified miscreants near Mundapada road. As Bijay fell down, both the miscreants dragged him down to a nearby pond and drowned him.

Getting information, police began an investigation. From the preliminary investigation, the cops suspected that the incident is fallout of old enmity.

However, on Friday, two accused Ajay Munda and Kumar Munda were nabbed by the Badmal police. Police said that the deceased Bijay was released from jail few days back after his conviction in a murder case. Jharsuguda SDPO Kailash Aacharya said both accused have confessed the crime and told that they had an old enmity with the victim. Police have seized the lathis used in the crime and forwarded the two accused to court.
